THE BLACKROOM

Dennys Capellan better known as “SumYunGhai” is a Dominican American producer who started experimenting with music at the age of 13. During a time when new age Hip Hop, Rap and R&B was on a major rise, he began experimenting with different sounds and flows. He directed his talent towards sampling instrumentals and creating his own sound and productions. Starting from humble beginnings of just a Laptop, “Fruity Loops(now known as FL Studio) and a Vision, SumYunGhai had worked relentlessly to build a home-based studio where he furthered his knowledge and skills and turned it into more than just something he loved and did for fun. By the age of 18, he had the resources to begin teaching himself how to Engineer his own music and develop his brand.

Two years later the self taught producer linked up with his older cousin and manager, Johnny Salazar professionally known as “J Dinero“. Johnny had seen the raw talent and potential that his cousin had at an early age and it was at this moment that he realized what his purpose was. The duo began to pursue taking their passion for music to another level and created their Brand/Production team, The Blackroom. The young producers gift and tremendous work ethic matched well with Johnny‘s New York State of Mind and Marketing Strategies, which was all the duo needed to take the next step and enter the game. The two had a vision set in place and knew it could only be Achieved through Sacrifice, Dedication, and Networking. Fast forward a couple years and the team has built their very own Professional Production Studio from the ground up with Industry Standard Equipment and a growing team of Blackroom members that share the same goal of bringing a new ultimate sound of music to the people.

BUILDING THE TEAM

SumYunGhai and J Dinero set their sights on building a skilled and experienced team. In 2015, Johnny traveled to Dominican Republic to promote music and meet with Award Winning Producer Of The Year, Chael Betances (Left Image). Chael later joined the team as the in-house Mastering Engineer and became a valuable piece to The Blackroom‘s Sound. This was just the beginning of what was to come for the growing label. The same year, The Blackroom added a new connection to the resume with music vet, Jephthe “Mave” L Jacques. With over a decade of experience in the Music Industry,”Mave” has worked with big names like French Montana, Kanye West and Russell Simmons. Aside from molding images and closing deals, the brand developer is the Mastermind and CEO behind the Worldwide Website “The Rapfest” as well as working directly with urban influential magazine “The Source“.
